Galatians:
Building a Faith that Liberates
“You Belong to Christ”
Galatians
3:15-18
Galatians
3:29If you belong to Christ, then
you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to
the promise.
Galatians
3:14He redeemed us in order that the
blessing given to Abraham might come to the
Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we
might receive the promise of the Spirit.
When God says
He loves you, He means it. (3:15-18)
Galatians 3:16 The
promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.
The Scripture does not say “and to seeds,”
meaning many people, but “and to your seed,”
meaning one person, who is Christ. 17What
I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years
later, does not set aside the covenant previously
established by God and thus do away with the
promise. 18For if the inheritance
depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a
promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham
through a promise.
1.
Through Christ you can have new life.
Philippians 4:13
“
I can do everything through Christ who
gives me strength”
2.
In Christ you can receive God's abundant love and
care.
2 Corinthians
1:20
“For
no matter how many promises
God
has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ”
3.
By Christ, God alone makes all this posible.
Genesis 15:8-15
“the
covenant previously established by God” (v 17)
“God
in his grace gave it to Abraham through a
promise” (v18)
With
Abraham, God alone walked though the sacrificed
animals
On
the cross, Christ alone died as our sacrifice for
sin
Have
you given up on God?
Have you doubted God’s love?
Do God’s promises seem distant?
Are you trying to do it your way instead of
God’s?
Are you living “through Christ”?
